There are five GP practices on Texel waiting for you. Each with its own character, but with the same goal: good, accessible care for everyone on the island.

Together with the Texel Pharmacy, we offer reliable care for residents and tourists of Texel. By working together, we can help you quickly and, where necessary, refer you to the right care provider. This is how we keep care on Texel personal, involved and close by.

Care for visitors to Texel is shared by the five GP practices. In each case, one of the practices is responsible for the care of visitors.

Emergency care during the day Monday to Friday

In life-threatening situations, always call 112. Is it not a life-threatening situation, but as a tourist on Texel you do need urgent GP care? Call the tourist number from Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.: 0222 338 900. Our GPs will be happy to help you or refer you to the right practice on the island.

Emergency care evenings, nights, holidays and weekends

In life-threatening situations, always call 112. Is it not a life-threatening situation? On working days between 17.00 and 08.00, during public holidays and at weekends, you can go to the GP emergency unit in case of emergency. The GP emergency unit is only for care that cannot wait until the next working day.

Medication

Do you need medication during your holiday? Then ask your own GP for an (international) prescription. Your GP can then simply send the prescription to the Texel pharmacy. The Texel pharmacy is located at Weverstraat 95 in Den Burg. Are you unable to request your prescription via your own GP? Then you can request your prescription from one of the Texel GP practices via this link. Once you have filled in the form, you will receive a telephone number you should call to finalise the request.
